Luxembourg City firefighters rush to the scene of a blaze on Thursday morning that broke out in an empty building on a road leading down to the Pétrusse valley.

The incident occurred at about 8am on Rue de Prague and the fire was quickly brought under control by the local brigade.

However the road had to be blocked from Boulevard de la Pétrusse towards the Grund area and at the time of writing (10am) was still blocked to traffic.

Motorists are therefore advised to avoid the area if possible.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage and is currently being investigated.
