(CS/MB) The car park near Luxembourg's central train station was voted the capital's best in an international study, which examined 60 car parks in 15 European cities.
The study was conducted by several automobile clubs in Europe as part of the consumer protection programme EuroTest.
Four car parks in Luxembourg were tested, with the central station car park earning the best grades, receiving a “good” verdict for user friendliness, navigability and safety. Tariffs were deemed “very good”, leading to an overall score of “good”.
The Monterey car park received a “good” and “very good”, respectively, for user friendliness and tariffs. However, it was only “satisfactory” in regards to navigability and safety, as were Saint-Esprit and Place de Théâtre.
The latter two received a “good” in regards to tariffs, but were rated “very poor” for user friendliness.
Monterey, Saint-Esprit and Place de Théâtre finished with an overall “satisfactory” score.
The most common complaints about car park's in Europe were narrow parking spaces, entrances too low for some car models or steep ramps.
The underground car park Opéra in Zurich was named Europe's best car park, with the underground car park of the Vienna University of Technology deemed the worst.
