(ADW) Culinary specialties from Thailand, babushka dolls from Russia, shawls and scarves from Italy, and even jewellery from Morocco: The International Bazar now in its 51st edition is an explosion of specialties and local products from different countries from around the world. Not to mention music and dance too, that spanned the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. And according to organisers 25,000 people visitors enjoyed it this year!
In total, 57 countries participated, with 68 stalls at the charity event that took place the entire weekend at the LuxExpo. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, who holds the patronage of the event, visited the Bazar on Saturday afternoon and explored many stands in exhibition halls 8 and 9.
As part of the International Bazar, several tombola games were held are for visitors, right up until the end on Sunday evening at 6pm. The proceeds will be donated to 98 charity projects around the world, including four in Luxembourg. The main project this year is the human rights organisation "Target” that fights in several African and Muslim countries against female genital mutilation.
