Dog rescued from basement
(CS) Luxembourg police on Sunday evening rescued a dog from the basement of a building, where it was kept locked up in a cage in the dark.
Neighbours had alerted police, saying that the man kept a dog locked up in the basement.
Indeed, when they arrived at the scene, officers found a dog kept in a dark basement room in a cage made from wooden pallets. The room stank of urin and feces. A water bowl was empty and there was no food.
The man keeping the dog in such poor conditions said he was looking after it for a colleague, while the latter was on holiday. However, he could not give the contact details of the dog's owner.
The dog was seized by police and the man is facing charges.
