The DP was the big winner in the centre on Sunday, with voter support climbing to 25.02 percent from 19.44 percent.

(CS) The DP was the big winner in the centre on Sunday, with voter support climbing to 25.02 percent from 19.44 percent.

The CSV on the other hand lost just over 3 percent. Also among the parties losing votes were the LSAP, “déi Gréng”, the ADR and the KPL. “Déi Lénk” secured a small win. The newly-formed PID did not pass the two percent mark, with the Pirate Party gaining around three percent of the vote, a result echoed in other parts of the country.

This leaves the DP with six seats (+2), “déi Lénk” with 1 (+1), and “déi Gréng” (2), the LSAP (3) and the CSV (8) each lose one seat.

Popular Luxembourg mayor Xavier Bettel was the top candidate for the DP in the centre.
