Elderly woman attacked with scissors in own home
(ADW) An elderly woman suffered injuries and shock when she was assaulted in her own home on Thursday by an attacker brandishing a pair of scissors.
The incident happened at about 10.30am in Strassen just after an employee from home help nursing services had left the woman's home.
Answering a knock at the door, the resident was confronted by a woman demanding money, before spraying the senior citizen in the face with a liquid.
It was then that the perpetrator pulled out a pair of scissors and attacked her victim inflicting multiple cuts.
The suspect then stole several valuable items and fled the scene after locking the front door from the outside. This meant that the elderly woman was forced to climb through a window to the outside in order to seek assistance.
Following the rapid response of the police, the culprit of the the attack was identified, tracked down and caught later the same same day. She was then brought before an investigating judge on Friday.
The elderly woman was taken to hospital but luckily she was reported to only be suffering from minor injuries.
