Extra road safety checks in Luxembourg during July
(MH) As part of the road safety campaign, Luxembourg police announce that several extra road safety checks are being carried out during the first week of July.
Alongside regular speed check controls, police will be on the look out for drivers that are either on the phone or not wearing seat belts.
Drivers are reminded that the prohibition of mobile phones also applies to all kinds of display devices that are not safely installed or used for assistance or navigation.
In case of violation, drivers will be expected to pay 145 euros and lose two points from their licences.
In addition, drivers risk paying a fine of 24 euros if they use headphones or any other device that could cancel out road noises.
