Luxembourg fishermen make quite the catch!
(CS/hay) Two hobby fishermen in Luxembourg made quite a catch earlier this week, when they caught a 163-centimetre and 31.5 kilogramme wels catfish in Schwebsange along the Moselle.
It took Guy and Sven around one hour to reel in the fish, they revealed on mywort.lu, where there are also more pictures available of the colossus.
No special tricks were needed, however, to get the fish on the hook, as they used a simple 8 centimetre wobbler, which is a type of bait shaped like a small fish.
Wels catfish are the biggest native fresh water fish in Europe. While the 163 centimetre specimen caught in the Moselle is on the larger side, anglers have reported catfish the size of over two metres and weighing more than 100 kilogrammes.
