Due to heavy rains in recent days, there has been a noticeable rise of the Moselle River water level in Remich. Meanwhile, the N10 road between Schengen and the A13 motorway junction has been closed because of flooding.

(ADW) Due to heavy rains in recent days, there has been a noticeable rise of the Moselle River water level in Remich. Meanwhile the N10 road between Schengen and the A13 motorway junction has been closed because of flooding.

Police are warning car owners who parked their vehicles along the Esplanade in Remich to move them away from the river's edge as there is a chance of flooding.

In Stadtbredimus a status of “vigilance” was reached on Tuesday with the safe water level of 530 centimetres being breached. Currently, the level stands at 534 centimetres. In Grevenmacher this level is 524 centimetres.

According to the Water Management Office in an announcement made Tuesday morning, water levels are rising by two centimetres per hour. Therefore water levels are likely to rise for the entire day with the first “all-clear” being forecast for the evening
