(CS) A strike of French air traffic controllers on Thursday is causing significant delays to several Luxair flights, with routes to Spain especially affected.

Of around 40 departures from Findel on Thursday, delays of up to one and a half hours are expected for some ten flights.

Especially travellers to Madrid and Barcelona should be prepared for a longer wait at the airport, since these routes cannot be diverted via German airspace.

One flight by Spanish airline Vueling, the 2.35pm to Barcelona, has in the meantime been cancelled.

Evening flights are expected to be less affected.

French air traffic controllers have announced that they will strike for some 20 hours.

Travellers are urged to check updates on their flights on the Luxair website or on lux-airport.lu
