Luxembourg hit by hail and thunderstorms
Severe thunderstorms struck Luxembourg and the Greater Region on Monday night and continued into Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called out 41 times between 9pm and 4am, in particular for flooded cellars.
And it does not seem as though the thunderstorms are likely to let up as they are expected to continue throughout Tuesday, although should be over by the evening.
Wednesday's weather should be dryer, but a return to rain could be possible on Thursday when light showers are likely.
The Facebook page 'Meteo Kehlen' in the southern region of Luxembourg, published photos of hailstones about 2cm wide, that fell just before 10pm on Monday.
Bad weather hit central region shortly after with large hailstones falling in the area of Lintgen, according to the Facebook page of Meteo Kehlen who published a photo:
On Tuesday morning emergency services rushed to a house in Itzig near Contern, as it was struck by lightning.
