Lorry breakdown causes major traffic jam
(CS/hip) Commuters and motorists in Luxembourg faces unusual delays on Tuesday evening, after the breakdown of a lorry caused tailbacks on the A13 and A3 with repercussions on the wider road network.
A lorry had broken down in the Hellange roundabout in the late afternoon, but it would take until 6pm for the vehicle to be towed.
The result – tailbacks in all directions from the roundabout. In direction of France the traffic jam already started in Gasperich and the Cloche d'Or. The "Irrgärtchen" roundabout was also affected and drivers everywhere had to bring an extra bit of patients to the road.
The problem only slowly started dissolving once the lorry had been removed from the roundabout, but it would take several hours for traffic to return to normal.
