Luxembourg airport closed for resurfacing work
(CS/ham) Luxembourg's Findel airport will close for several hours starting 11.30am because of resurfacing work, an official statement by the airport said.
The airport is expected to remain closed for around two hours, with flights already grounded at other airports.
At an inspection on Monday an irregularity in the surface of the runway was found, which could lead to cracks. Between 11.30am and 1.30pm the runway will be closed for repair works.
The maintenance work will cause significant delays for passengers scheduled to leave Luxembourg during this time.
Additionally, flights to London, Amsterdam and Munich were cancelled. Bad weather conditions could lead to further problems in air traffic.
Passengers should be prepared for further delays and are asked to monitor updates on the lux-airport.lu website or via their travel provider.
