Minibus ablaze in Dudelange
(ADW) At about 5:30am on Tuesday morning, firefighters were called out to a raging minibus fire in Dudelange.
They didn't have to go far however, as the vehicle was parked outside the fire station on rue de Luxembourg.
Using breathing apparatus and a special foam, the fire which dramatically engulfed the entire vehicle, was eventually extinguished.
Fortunately, the driver, the sole occupant of the minibus, managed to escape in time, but was taken to Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch in Esch-sur-Alzette for a check-up.
Just how the minibus caught fire in the first place is either unknown or has not been reported.
After the hour it took to extinguish the fire, a clean up operation began for what was left of the vehicle. Police set up a diversion and it wasn't until 9am that the road was opened up completely to traffic once again.
