Police foil drugs operation aimed at students
(str/ADW) Police reported a recent drug bust in Grevenmacher, catching a dealer in the vicinity of a school. The offender is said to have sold marijuana to a large number of students.
Specialist narcotics officers followed the scent of suspected drug dealers in the Grevenmacher region and initially only kept them under surveillance.
They discovered that a dealer was liaising with a middle man who negotiated with potential buyers passing by in their cars. On trips around the block in the vicinity of a school, drugs and money were exchanged.
It was on one of these routes the trap was set by police who moved in to arrest both dealer and clients. Four bags of marijuana were immediately seized at the scene.
After presenting the dealer with search warrants for the suspect’s home, more drugs, money and other items were discovered. A total of 193 grams marijuana was confiscated, as well as €1070 in cash and 4 mobile phones.
By order of the prosecutor, the man was arrested.
