Police are appealing for witnesses after residents found a stranger hiding in their home, a week after a neighbour was tied up and burgled.

According to Luxembourg Police, residents discovered a man hiding behind their bedroom door when they returned to their Olingen property at around 6.45pm on September 24.

The man had reportedly entered the building through an unlocked door. When confronted by the residents, he fled the scene.

The incident came just over a week after an elderly neighbour was tied up and robbed at her home on September 16.

Witnesses describe the suspect as aged between 35 and 40 years old with short, dark hair and normal build. He was wearing jeans and a black shirt at the time.

Anyone with information about either incident is urged to call Luxembourg Police on 113.
