Luxembourg Royals receive warm reception in Helsinki
Luxembourg's Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa arrived in Helsinki on Tuesday afternoon for the start of their state visit.
Leading a delegation of ministers and economic partners, the Grand Ducal couple was greeted at Helsinki airport by Finnish Foreign Trade and Development Minister Lenita Toivakka.
An official ceremony was then hosted at the Presidential Palace where the Grand Ducal Couple was received by President Sauli Niinistö and his wife Jenni Haukio.
The Grand Ducal couple exchanged gifts before gathering on a balcony where they were met with warm applause from the Finnish people.
Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn met with his Finnish counterpart, Timo Soini, to exchange views on bilateral issues and the current issues of European and foreign policy.
The first day concludes with a gala dinner at the Presidential Palace.
