Luxembourg's oldest resident dies

Sad news as the oldest person in Luxembourg and indeed the seventh oldest in the world, died on Wednesday aged 110.

(ADW) Sad news as the oldest person in Luxembourg and indeed the seventh oldest in the world, died on Wednesday aged 110.

Jean Ley who lived in Ettelbrück all his life, had only recently celebrated his birthday on February 10. To celebrate this momentous anniversary Jean Ley was treated to a visit by Luxembourg's Family Minister Marie-Josée Jacobs and the mayor of Ettelbrück.

Jean Ley lived his final days at the nursing home "Sacré Coeur" in Diekirch and was a widower since 2000 after 69 years of marriage. Ley was regarded as the third oldest person in Europe and seventh oldest in the world.
