Luxembourg's royals turn up the glamour
(CS) Two days of National Day festivities came to a close for Luxembourg's royal family with an official reception at the Grand Ducal palace in Luxembourg City on Tuesday evening.
While Grand Duke Henri and Crown Prince Guillaume wore their dress uniform, Prince Félix, Prince Louis and Sébastien sported white ties and tailcoats.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa was seen in a flowing green robe, while Princess Stéphanie opted for a sleeveless champagne gown. Princess Claire cut a stylish figure in an off-the-shoulder red dress, accessorised with an elaborate necklace.
Princess Tessy meanwhile opted for a mauve floor-length gown with matching jewellery, while Princess Alexandra joined the royal line-up in an asymetrical draped look.
The reception was the final huzzah for National Day, with politicians welcomed at the Grand Ducal palace. It marked the end of a busy two days for the royal family, which started on June 22 with a visit to Esch/Alzette for Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie, and a trip to Mondorf-les-Bains for the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess.
In the evening the royals gathered in Luxembourg City to watch the torch-lit parade and the fireworks. After a late night, the Grand Ducal family was up early for the civil National Day ceremony at the Philharmonie, followed by the military parade on Avenue de la Liberté and the Te Deum at Notre Dame Cathedral.
