A Luxembourg army sergeant has joined an EU military training mission, supporting and training soldiers in Mali.

A Luxembourg army sergeant has joined an EU military training mission, supporting and training soldiers in Mali.

The soldier succeeds Sergeant Dan Schanen within the EUTM Mali mission as a non-commissioned officer training the Malian armed forces.Staff Sergeant Schanen held this position since 23 March 2013.

EUTM Mali has been established February 19, 2013 as the military mission of the European Union to contribute to the training of the Malian armed forces.

The Luxembourg army is now also present in Kosovo (KFOR ) in Afghanistan (ISAF) , Bosnia - Herzegovina ( Althea ) and the Democratic Republic of Congo ( EUSEC RD Congo).
