(CS) In the night from Saturday to Sunday, police were called to a number of brawls and attacks, with one person stabbed in the eye.

In one incident a witness spotted a man on Avenue John F. Kennedy threatening another man with a knife. Once he had obtained the man's valuables he fled the scene. Thanks to a call to police by the witness, the suspect was arrested shortly afterwards on a bus.

Just after midnight a man was attacked with a knife in Wellenstein, suffering several deep cuts. Both the suspect and the victim were still on site when police arrived, who said that alcohol played a role in the incident.

At 4.50am, police were called to a mass brawl outside a club on Cote d'Eich. One person was stabbed in the eye and any witnesses with information on the incident are asked to call 113.

At 5.40am then a man was attacked after asking two men for directions to a restaurant. The suspects pretended to show him, leading the man from the Rue Jos Junck to Rue Charles Marx, where they attacked him.

The man briefly lost consciousness and found his wallet and iPhone stolen. The first suspect is described as being of southern European origin, of slim build and around 1.70 metres tall, with dark hair and dreadlocks at the back of his head.

He was speaking English and Portuguese.

The second man is described as around 1.80 metres tall, slim but athletic, with short shaved hair, also speaking Portuguese.
