Stranded fairgoers await rescue
Fairgoers had to wait for the fire department to rescue them when they were suspended eight metres above the ground because of a technical fault.
According to police two people were stranded on the Catapult, an extreme ride in which people are strapped into a globe, which is catapulted into the air on a bungee rope.
The ride was going well until a part came lose late on Saturday evening, preventing the operator from being able to lower the launch globe to the ground and release the thrill seekers.
They were eventually freed by the fire department. Neither occupant was injured.
