Summer weather for start of the Fouer
(CS) The start of the Schueberfouer, according to Luxembourg lore, also means that summer is over, but it looks like the good weather with hold for at least some of the funfair's opening weekend.
Friday brought sunshine and almost clear skies to the Grand Duchy, perfect weather for the traditional opening of the Fouer, which sees several sheep herded around the fair, a nod to the medieval cattle market roots of the event.
According to national weather service Meteolux, Saturday will see highs of up to 28°C with the sun shining from blue skies.
Only on Sunday afternoon, the weather could rain on the Fouer parade with thunderstorms forecast.
Maybe there is something to the local legend after all, with next week expected to start with substantially cooler temperatures, with highs of around 21°C and scattered showers forecast for Monday. Temperatures are set to remain around that level for the following days, but at least it should be dry.
