Truck driver suffers fatal heart attack
(ADW) A 61-year-old truck driver suffered a fatal heart attack at the wheel of his articulated lorry on the A3 motorway in the direction of Luxembourg City, late on Thursday morning.
He lost complete control of the vehicle near the Livange exit.
The refrigerated truck careered off the road into a ditch and was eventually brought to a stop by a hedgerow.
Once emergency services arrived at the scene, doctors attempted to revive the driver for about 50 minutes, but in vain as the man died.
The Livange exit of the A3 was closed while a clean-up operation took place and to allow a Luxembourg Air Rescue helicopter to land.
The N13 between Bettembourg and Livange was also blocked until midday.
