Luxembourg voted one of the best countries to raise a family

After InterNations' survey last week voted Luxembourg as the safest countries in the world for expats, it couldn't quite reach the same heights with their latest survey looking for the best countries to raise a family.

In the survey by InterNations, the world's largest network for people who live and work abroad. They took into account everything from childcare and education to children's health and safety.

Although Luxembourg received an average score in the availability of Childcare and Education subindex it was one of the best for Family Well-Being and Children's Safety.

The top spots were all taken up by countries with exemplary school systems.

The top 15 countries are as follows:

• 14 - Luxembourg
• 13 - Netherlands
• 12 - Poland
• 11 - France
• 10 - Germany
• 9 - Belgium
• 8 - Taiwan
• 7 - Australia
• 6 - Norway
• 5 - Sweden
• 4 - Austria
• 3 - Israel
• 2 - Czech Republic
• 1 - Finland
