Making a splash against cancer
(CS) Think Pink Lux helped raise funds to support women living with cancer in Luxembourg with a ladies only event on Friday evening.
The “After Dinner Splash” saw women gather at the International School of Luxembourg in Merl at 9pm for a Zumba class, an aperitif and dancing late into the evening.
Out of solidarity for people affected by cancer the women had been asked to dress with a splash of pink or to wear the pink ribbon, a symbol around the world for breast cancer awareness.
Think Pink Lux was founded in 2009 and aims to raise awareness and provide support to women living with cancer in the Grand Duchy.
The group hosts regular fundraisers and also donates money to cancer research. In September, the organisation was able to donate 21,000 euros to fund a Luxembourg-based PhD cancer research programme.
Earlier this year, Think Pink Lux released an English-language booklet filled with tips and information about cancer detection and treatment, but also advice on everyday life as a cancer patient.
