An alarming attack left a Luxembourg City bus passenger in shock after a gang of youths threatened him and stole his wallet before fleeing.

(ADW) An alarming attack left a Luxembourg City bus passenger in shock after a gang of youths threatened him and stole his wallet before fleeing.

A man was travelling on a bus with a friend between Place de Paris and the Hamilius/Centre Aldringen bus stop in the City centre at just after 7.30pm on Friday night.

When he got up to leave the bus at Centre Aldringen, a group of about 5 to 7 youths approached him. One of them grabbed the man by the neck while another stole his wallet out of his pocket. The gang then fled the scene down into the underground area of the Centre Aldringen.

At the time of the incident there were a many witnesses on the bus, however it is understood that nobody came to the aid of the victim, possibly due to the fact that the attack took place in a matter of seconds.

The gang was described as being about 2-3 white and 2-3 black male youths as well as one female.

Descriptions of the two perpetrators that carried out the theft are as follows:

Perpetrator 1:

  • About 17-18 years old, 1.85 meters tall
  • Sporty muscular stature
  • Black with short shaved hair
  • Spoke Luxembourgish
  • Dressed in a denim jeans, sweater and wearing a baseball cap that could have been red.

Perpetrator 2:

  • About 17-18 years, 1.75 meters tall
  • Normal stature
  • Black with black curly long hair
  • Spoke Portuguese
  • Wore dark clothes and a hooded jacket

If anyone was on the bus at the time, witnessed the incident or are able to identify any of the gang members, they are asked to immediately call the emergency number: 113
