Man plunges 20 metres down forest slope
(CS) A man going for a walk in the forest near Bourglinster had a lucky escape after falling 20 metres down a steep slope without suffering serious injuries.
Emergency services arrived at the scene around 4.30pm, seeing the man caught in some bushes, which had prevented him from hitting the ground hard, saving him from serious injury.
Unable to free himself, the man had been stuck there for about half an hour.
Secured by ladders and with a rescue air cushion placed below the man was brought to safety. An emergency doctor on site helped treat minor wounds suffered in the fall.
