It was a busy night on Monday for emergency services on Luxembourg roads as no less than four people were injured in three accidents across the country in a short spate of time, possibly due to the sudden rainfall making roads slippery.

The first happened at about 7.15pm in Grevenmacher when a motorist on Rue Ste Catherine is reported to have collided with a pedestrian. The victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance, but their condition is not known.

It was only half an hour later between Feulen and Heiderscheid another accident occurred. As a car driver was performing what police describe as “a manoeuvre” on a road, a truck ploughed into the vehicle. Luckily however, the victim was only slightly injured in the crash but was taken to hospital for a check-up.

But that was not the end of the accident spree, as at about 8.30pm on the hill between Kopstal and Bridal, a head-on crash occurred between two vehicles. Both drivers were hurt in the incident and rushed to hospital, although the extent of their injuries are not known. Firefighters from Kopstal were left with the task of clearing the accident site.
