Moose saved from drowning in ice-cold water

While ice skating in Sweden, a group of people found themselves face to face with a moose in distress. The moose had walked on the frozen river and fell through the ice, struggling to get a grip to get out of the water again.

(ChB/sth) - While ice skating in Sweden, a group of people found themselves face to face with a moose in distress. The moose had walked onto the frozen river and fell through the ice, struggling to get a grip to get out of the water again.

Already exhausted when the group arrived, the animal was probably not likely to survive for much longer. That's why the group of people decided to step in. Using an axe, they took turns chopping a pathway through the ice into shallower water, where the moose could reach the bottom and get out.

The animal was able to get out of the water and get back to the forest, staggering but alive!

The video, posted by Viktor Johannessen from Sweden, has already been viewed some 550,000 times since it was uploaded on February 1.
