Nestlé biscuit recalled because of contamination

There has been a recall of the Nestlé Cerelac product 'Céréale biscuitée pour panades de fruits' after the Luxembourg food safety authorities were informed the product is contaminated by Polycylic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

A Nestlé Cerelac product, 'Céréale biscuitée pour panades de fruits', has been recalled after the Luxembourg food safety authorities were informed it is contaminated by Polycylic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

PAHs are a group of chemicals that are formed by incomplete combustion. Food can become contaminated via the environment or during the process of cooking.

Auchan, Cactus, Cora, Pall Center and Massen supermarkets were potentially supplied with the product. The product was also distributed via Hanff Global Health Solutions and pharmacies.

It has been taken off the shelves but some had already been sold.

The Luxembourg food safety authorities recommend that consumers should not eat the following product:

Expiry date: 31/07/2018

Only the products with the batch number and expiry date indicated above are concerned. No other products are affected.
