(CS/vb) The CSV's group in parliament has elected a new president, after Marc Spautz resigned from the post due to his appointment as Minister of Family and Integration.

Gilles Roth, mayor of Mamer, was voted the new head of the CSV's parliamentary group on Thursday. The 46-year-old has been an MP since 2007 and was a government council at the Ministry of Finance before becoming a member of parliament.

Roth is set to continue his office as mayor of Mamer.

Félix Eischen was voted first vice president, with Martine Mergen the second vice president.

Former head of the parliamentary group Marc Spautz resigned from his post last week, after being appointed the new Minister of Family and Integration, Minister of Cooperation, and Minister for Relations with the Parliament.

Spautz was sworn in earlier this week. He is taking over from Marie-Josée Jacobs, who announced her resignation on April 27.
