One more death, 168 more test positive for coronavirus in Luxembourg

One more person has died of coronavirus in Luxembourg over the past day and 168 additional people have contracted the virus, the health ministry said on Thursday.

The total number of deaths now stands at 30 and 2,487 have been infected.

This is up from 29 deaths and 2,319 infections on Wednesday.

Luxembourg has carried out 20,092 tests. Of those which came back positive, 2,099 were people who live in the Grand Duchy and 388 were non-residents.

Since Tuesday, testing is no longer only available to people with severe symptoms but also to anyone with any of the known symptoms of Covid-19 and healthcare workers.

The pandemic has now killed more than 49,000 people worldwide, infected more than 965,000. Just over 203,000 have recovered.
