A case of suspected tuberculosis has been reported in Luxembourg, forcing a homeless charity to cancel an open door event.

Luxembourg charity Stëmm vun der Strooss reported in a press release published on Monday there had been a suspected TB case at a post-therapy centre in Schoenfels.

The open door event was scheduled for Monday, July 6, from 4pm to 7pm. The charity gave no further information about the case.

Tuberculosis, also known as TB, is a potentially serious infectious disease affecting mainly the lungs.

Cases in Luxembourg are not as rare as one might think. A total of 45 TB cases were reported in the Grand Duchy in 2012.
