Patrick Michaely has been appointed as the new director of the National Museum of Natural History (MNHNL), Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has confirmed.

Michaely, who joined the MNHNL in 1994, has been the head of the museum's communications and public relations department since 1996. He will take over his new role on May 5 for an initial seven-year term. Michaely replaces current director Alain Faber, who has served in the post since 2014.
