The Schueberfouer had only been open a few hours when the first case of a lost child was reported to the police at about 9pm. The little boy was found by the bike racks located by the Schuman roundabout looking for his mother.

However all ended well as a wait at the police station for the child wasn’t long before his distraught mother arrived.

With the aim of eliminating such distressing situations for both children and parents or guardians, police have set up a free service especially for the Schueberfouer.

When arriving at the Fouer, those with little children, can visit the police cabin located near the entrance. There they will be given a sticker with their name, a registration number and the police phone number.

If the child becomes lost, anyone nearby will quickly see the very visible sticker and be able to contact the police. Using the registration number the child’s guardian can be quickly identified and contacted.

This clever system should help alleviate distressing situations leaving children and of course parents, time to fully enjoy this year’s Schueberfouer.
