Police catch fugitive in Luxembourg

Luxembourg Police have arrested a Portuguese man who escaped from prison in Portugal and fled to Luxembourg.

The 33-year-old man had been sentenced to 15 years jailtime in Portugal after killing his young daughter in 2004. He broke out in 2011 and a warrant for his arrest had been issued.

There had been sightings of a man matching his description in mid-August in Thionville, France, which prompted the police to begin an investigation and led to his arrest in Luxembourg. He was arraigned on Tuesday and is currently waiting extradition to Portugal.
