Polish Culture Festival kicks off in Luxembourg
Luxembourg's Polish community will share their love of their native land at a special festival which gets underway in Luxembourg City this weekend.
The fourth Polish Culture Festival opens on Friday night with a special ceremony at the Abbaye de Neumunster.
Festivities kick off from 7.30pm in the Salle Robert Krieps, where Polish Ambassador to Luxembourg Bartosz Jałowiecki will give an opening speech, followed by a concert from “Rhythm of the language”, presented by the Theatre Chorea from Łódź, from 8pm.
After Friday, the varied programme of events spanning the Grand Duchy includes comic workshops (June 21 & 23) and a retrospective of Polish comics (June7 to July 5), photography workshop (from June 28 to July 4) and lots of music concerts from Polish rock hits (July 3) to the best hits from the '50s (June 27).
Blues and rock music fans may wish to take part in the Join my band, masterclass on June 28 and July 4), meanwhile the concert closes with Magda Piskorczyk & Band on July 4. To view the full programme, visit festival-polonais.lu
