Prince Félix – a royal who matters
(CS) Luxembourg's Prince Félix features in a list of 13 “royals who mattered in 2013 that weren't Kate Middleton” put together by the Huffington Post, for his fairytale wedding to Claire Lademacher.
While the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton, is no-doubt the royal scene-stealer of the year with the birth of Prince George, her flawless locks and fashion-icon style, the Huffington Post has dedicated an article to the “unsung royal heros” of the year.
Among them are Princess Madeleine and Princess Estelle of Sweden, UK Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, Denmark's Prince Frederik, Monaco's Charlotte Casiraghi and Princess Charlene, Queen Rania of Jordan, Zara Phillips and Japan's Prince Hisahito.
Also on the list is Prince Félix, whose wedding to long-time love Claire Lademacher, also covered by the website, lands him a spot in the top 13.
“As the younger brother, he may not be the heir to the Grand Ducal throne, but it looks like he got his fairytale ending,” the Huffington Post, which had reported on both the civil and religious ceremonies, states.
Fellow Benelux royals Queen Máxima of the Netherlands and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, who both rose in the ranks from princesses to queens through the investiture of their husbands King Willem-Alexander and King Philippe.
A “royal” weddings slideshow attached to the article also features pictures of the wedding of Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie, as well as the wedding of Prince Guillaume and Prince Félix's cousins Archduke Christoph of Austria and Archduchess Marie-Christine of Austria.
