Princess Amalia makes royal appearance
(CS) Luxembourg's Prince Félix and Princess Claire on Sunday showed off their bundle of joy – Princess Amalia – at the closing procession of the Octave ceremony.
While the little princess did not join the procession itself, Princess Claire and Prince Félix took turns carrying their daughter during an appearance on the palace balcony later in the afternoon.
It was the first time that the newest member of the royal family was seen in public since pictures of her Christening were released last year. Born on June 15, 2014, Amalia's first birthday is quickly approaching.
Also joining the family outing were Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, and Prince Louis and Princess Tessy with their sons, the princes Gabriel and Noah.
Grand Duke Henri joined the family in the afternoon, after the rest of the family had already attended a morning mass at Notre Dame Cathedral
Missing were Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie, who last week were spotted at a number of royal engagements, including the opening of the Luxembourg pavilion at the Venice Biennale art festival, as well as festivities marking the 70th anniversary of the end of WW2 in Paris.
Prince Sébastien meanwhile appeared not to have returned to Luxembourg yet following his graduation ceremony in the US on Saturday, while Princess Alexandra was also not part of the Grand Ducal family line-up this weekend.
The procession on Sunday marked the end of the annual Octave pilgrimage celebrated every year in honour of the Virgin Mary.
