(CS) Proceeds of this year's Red Cross bazaar on November 11 will go to projects aiding re-building efforts following natural disasters and humanitarian catastrophes.

Funds raised by the Luxembourg charity in its end-of-year campaign will benefit Haiti, Burundi, Nepal and Laos, and will go towards the construction of housing, improving health care as well as investments in preventative measures, such as improved infrastructure and logistics.

In 2011 the Red Cross bazaar raised 122,000 euros through sales of handmade arts and crafts products, second-hand items as well as international food stands and stands for children. The bazaar is a great opportunity to shop around for some Christmas presents and a tombola will offer tempting prizes.

As patron of the Luxembourg Red Cross, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa will also be visiting the bazaar on Saturday, which is open from 10am to 6pm at the Hall Victor Hugo in Limpertsberg.

Luxembourg City mayor Xavier Bettel will also be attending, as well as Health Minister Mars Di Bartolomeo and Minister of the Middle Classes, Tourism and Equal Opportunities Françoise Hetto Gaasch.

But, the bazaar is not the only even in the run-up to the end of the year, as a charity CD is also for sale on the Red Cross website and the charity will host its annual Christmas tree event on December 1 and 2, where the public can help make children's wishes come true.
