(che/hp) A national road safety campaign is due to start on Monday, meaning police checks will be carried out throughout Luxembourg.

The aim is to clamp down on road safety issues and police officers will be keeping an eye on how drivers respect traffic lights, stop and access signs.

Ignoring a red light or failing to respect a road sign could result in a 145 euro fine and two points.

The inspection will last seven days, until 19 March.
