Royal family scene with umbrellas
Luxembourg's Grand Ducal family were out in force with their umbrellas on Monday afternoon when they addressed a crowd from the palace balcony.
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa were joined by their five children Prince Guillaume, Prince Félix, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra and Prince Sébastian.
Of their partners, only Princess Stéphanie and Princess Claire were present, the latter without the little Princess Amalia.
The family waved to the sea of mobile phones as crowds snapped as many pictures of the scene as they could.
Prior to the family appearance, there was a small military show in front of the palace with the changing of the guard, accompanied by an honorary detachment of the army, and set to the music of the Luxembourg military band.
Following their brief appearance, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa headed for Mondorf-les-Bains while Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie went to Esch-sur-Alzette.
They were later expected back to rejoin the family in the capital for the evening's main festivities.
