In what can now be definitely called a “tradition”, ARA City Radio served up its annual fund-raising event on Wednesday for cancer charity Relais Pour La Vie, hosting a soup kitchen at Little Britain in Capellen.

It's 10 years now since the English language radio station has been involved with Relais Pour La Vie and Wednesday lunchtime saw its presenters Sam Steen and Mark Weadon, serving out soup to customers in return for a charity donation. DJ Kirsty Sutherland and Station Manager Lisa McClean were also present to lend support and of course taste the wares.

And a souper time was had by all with many remarks received that the pea and mint soup made by Little Britain was especially delicious.

Early morning breakfast DJ Sam Steen, after ladling out the last soup portion explained: “We really wanted to build on the success of last year's event and it was great to see so many people turn out to support our Relais Pour La Vie team,” before going on to say: “Everyone at Little Britain was fantastic, the food was great and they helped us so much so we'd really like to thank them.”

While the event took place, back in ARA City studios Natasha's packed lunch show was in full swing and soup-lying regular updates of the goings-on at little Britain. Here's hoping they saved her some soup!
