Spate of accidents as autumn starts

With rain, fog, leaves on wet streets and dropping temperatures, there was a series of accidents across Luxembourg on Saturday.

(CS) With rain, fog, leaves on wet streets and dropping temperatures, there was a series of accidents across Luxembourg on Saturday.

Emergency services reported in the early evening that one person was injured in an accident around 11.45am on the road between Vianden and Bettel.

The driver of the car lost control over his vehicle on the wet road. The car spun around and crashed into a road-side barrier. While the driver was uninjured, his passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Later in the day, around 1.30pm another motorist was injured when their car crashed into the motorway barrier on the A7 near Mersch in direction of Colmar Berg.

Another driver ran their car in a tree around 2.40pm near Schleif, also suffering injuries in the accident.

At 4.30pm then two cars collided in Dudelange, leaving one person injured.

In Luxembourg City meanwhile, a pedestrian was injured when they were hit by a car on Route d'Esch around 3.45pm.

No further details have so far been released on the circumstances of the accidents and the condition of those injured.
