Steampunk takes over Fond-de-Gras
Visitors to Fond-de-Gras could be forgiven for thinking they had travelled back in time this weekend when they were greeted by curious characters in Victorian dress.
The historic town was hosting the third edition of the Steampunk Convention, celebrating the science-fiction sub-genre combining elements of 19th Century history with post-apocalyptic, steam-powered weapons.
Followers of the movement came fully equipped with long cloaks, goggles and steam-powered gadgets. But, for those who weren't prepared, there was also a chance to purchase accessories and outfits at the convention's Victorian market hall.
The convention continues until 6pm on Sunday with fire demonstrations, bodypainting and a children's performance from Bimbo Theater, among other things.
