Sun shines on Luxembourg's big shopping day
Monday's dry and sunny conditions lured thousands of bargain hunters onto the capital's streets for the annual shopping fest that is the Braderie.
The upper town and train station area were filled with stalls as shops spilled into the streets announcing impressive offers on everything from clothing to cheese.
And it would seem shoppers were not disappointed this year.
"I come every year to the Braderie. You will always find a bargain here and I simply enjoy the beautiful weather," Annick Pletschette told the "Luxemburger Wort".
In addition to the many shop stands, the "Luxemburger Wort" had a stand in the upper town where it handed out free copies of Monday's newspaper along with this week's TV guide "Télécran" and branded shopping bags.
The paper also offered shoppers the chance to participate in a raffle to win an Apple iPad, by signing up to the wort.lu newsletter.
As well as shoppers, the streets were filled with politicians as candidates for this year's national elections campaigned ahead of polling day on October 20.
