Swarm of Santas invades Luxembourg city
A swarm of Santas armed with festive cheer invaded Luxembourg on Saturday when the capital hosted its very first Santa convention or SantaCon.
From 12 noon until midnight, festive friends gathered en masse at a number of locations dressed as Saint Nic himself, or other Christmas-themed characters such as reindeer or elves.
The aim was to emulate the SantaCon gatherings which first began in San Francisco, getting like-minded people together to share in some festive fun while enjoying a tipple or two at the local bars.
“We had a lot of people taking photos of us, wishing us a Merry Christmas,” said Amy, who helped make Luxembourg's first SantaCon become a reality.
The cheery group began their tour at Place de la Constitution where they posed for photos before dispersing among bars and the Christmas market. They then met again at various points around the capital, including Place d'Armes, Place Clairefontaine, the Grund bridge and Clausen.
