Take a dip at the Ban de Gasperich
(CS/nas) The new Ban de Gasperich development will not only feature offices and a shopping centre, but also a swimming pond, barbecue area and a small beach, mayor Xavier Bettel has revealed.
Speaking to the “Luxemburger Wort” Bettel said on Tuesday that fun, leisure and nature are a big part of the large-scale Ban de Gasperich development, which will see a whole new district added to the capital, including shops, housing, offices, restaurants, a hotel and a school.
On the site near the Boulevard Raiffeisen, the project will feature a large park, a project previously praised by the Green party, which had said that concrete wastelands, such as the Cloche d'Or, should be avoided.
Plans to include a pond, barbecue area and beach were the first details to emerge about the park.
“The residents should be able to relax there and spend some pleasant hours, do some sports and have fun,” the mayor added, saying that the Ban de Gasperich should be a lively place.
The development also offers the capital the chance to add something new to the City. “Such a structure is still missing here,” Bettel said.
