(ADW) This week sees the revenge of the snow once again as Luxembourg’s weather service have issued another warning for the start of the week, with show fall that is likely to stick across the Grand Duchy.

The night-time drizzle combined with near freezing temperatures on Sunday night meant that many gritting trucks were busy on the roads and motorists are warned to be extra vigilant on Monday morning.

It is also during the course of Monday, well into the afternoon, that snowfall is expected. As temperatures are not that far above freezing point, is it likely the snow will stick, at least for a short while. At higher altitudes the snowfall could reach about four centimetres.

The northern Ösling region of Luxembourg will be the most affected where the snow is likely to last the longest.

The weather service blames the new wave of snow on polar air pockets at very low temperatures over the Grand Duchy.

Snow is also forecast for Wednesday but by the end of the week will probably transform into that all too familiar rain, but at least temperatures are forecast to raise slightly.
